We will have reports of officers (Treasurer, President, and Secretary), and the Secretary will read and move for approval of the minutes from June 2023.  During the picnic, we will also discuss program plans for 2024-25 and will distribute a survey to find out what kinds of programs are of interest to members.

Everyone is asked to bring a dish to share (main dish, salad, vegetable, or dessert). Paper plates and utensils will be provided. Water will be available, too.

UPDATES

Membership: From the Membership Chair
We had eight new members join between September 2023,  and June 2024.

Dues: A Note From Your Treasurer
A reminder that many members are due to renew their memberships at this time. Dues have not gone up (hip hip hurray) for the coming year, staying at $72 for national plus $10 for our local branch for a total of $82 for our college graduate members. Non-graduates are $20. The easiest way will be to bring your check to the June picnic meeting and receive a special picnic favor for your efforts! If you are unable to attend or to simply mark it off your “to do” list, mail your check to:
Jan Day
1631 Hidden Valley Road
Shaftsbury, VT 05262
Make check out to “AAUW.”

Open Membership Initiative Fails for Third Time
AAUW national membership will continue to require an associates degree or higher (or equivalent, such as an RN degree).  Changes to AAUW’s bylaws require 2/3 majority (66.6%) to pass. AAUW members voted 65.1% to approve the measure, just shy of passing.

Note: The newsletter is not published in July and August. The next issue you receive will be the September newsletter. Have a wonderful summer!
