Bennington Branch, AAUW

Advancing Equity for Women and Girls through Advocacy, Education, and Research since 1926

We welcome all individuals who support our mission, whether or not they have a college degree.

The Bennington Branch is the local affiliate of the National Association. It was founded in 1926 and will be celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2026.

Over the years the Bennington Branch has sponsored programs of interest to members and has opened many of these meetings to the community. Recent public programs have included the history of women’s suffrage and international issues. The branch welcomes women and men who support our mission as members, whether or not they have a college degree. Non- college graduates are local members. Those with an an associate’s or higher degree are also members of national AAUW.

The Bennington Branch actively supports a local scholarship program for non-traditional female students at the Community College of Vermont (CCV). Since 2007, the Branch has awarded a total of more than $50,000. Various fundraisers and cash gifts by members support this program.
