CALENDAR

  • October 11 at 1 pm. Scribble Sisters. Location: Home of Suzanne Kirkpatrick.

  • October 18 at 1 pm.  Book Group. Location: UU Meetinghouse.  The Good Life: Lessons from the World’s Longest Scientific Study of Happiness by Dr. Robert Waldinger and Marc Schulz.

Our Book group decided to read this as our October selection, in preparation for our Branch meeting on November 1. All members invited!

  • October 22 at 2 pm.  “Leaving Your Tales Behind You.” Location: UU Meetinghouse. 

An interactive session about uncovering and documenting memoirs with Marianne Dekoven and Kathy Wagenknecht. You will receive more information by email in a couple of weeks. Click to read about the memoirs.

  • October 25 at 1 pm.  Scribble Sisters. Location: TBD

  • November 1 at 7 pm on Zoom. AAUW member Julie Mackaman in conversation with Robert Waldinger, MD, Director of The Harvard Study of Adult Development and Co-author of The Good Life (Simon and Schuster, 2023).

Dr. Waldinger, a Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, is also a psychiatrist, psychoanalyst, Zen priest — and a high school classmate of Julie’s in the Midwestern town where they grew up. Julie will talk with Bob about the 85-year-old ongoing Harvard study on healthy aging and the new book that shares the study’s findings. They will open up the conversation for questions from Zoom participants, including AAUW book group members who selected The Good Life for their October discussion.
