by Mary Feidner and Margaret Howland, coordinators
This past summer our monthly meeting of the AAUW Book Group did not meet because the Martha Canfield Library was closed due to the Pandemic. Instead, some of our AAUW members met as the Isolation Book Club on Zoom, choosing books much the same way we do during the rest of the year.
Recently, Mary was in touch with Phyllis Skidmore, Director of the Library, to learn of a possible return to the library this fall. According to Phyllis, that cannot happen for the foreseeable future because she must follow the State Guidelines for Social Distancing, thus limiting our group to six people in their community space. If and when the guidelines change, she will contact Mary and we will be able to resume our meetings at the library.
In the meantime, the regular AAUW Book Group and the Isolation Book Club will join together on Zoom for monthly meetings, meeting the third Thursday of the month at 1:00 pm (instead of Wednesdays at noon). See Branch Calendar for specifics on the September meeting.
If you do not have easy access to a computer, please see Zooming into Meetings for ways you can access ZOOM meetings using a phone.
