A Musical Winter Feast
Nothing says “winter holidays” like coming in from the cold to share a bit of comfort food, drink and music with friends. For this year’s branch holiday party, musicians Rosin the Beaux of Williamstown and Pownal have cooked up a lively prix-fixe musical menu using food-titled songs to lead us through a day of feasting… in just 45 minutes.
The musical courses — including a stately Irish welcome, a crack-of-dawn aperitif (“Whiskey Before Breakfast”), a selection of entrées, a nightcap (“A Farewell to Whiskey”) and a decadent dessert (“Double Chocolate Insomnia Rag”) — draw on traditional fiddle tunes of Americana, Ireland, Scotland and French Canada.
So let’s cozy up and catch up, welcome new AAUW members, sample refreshments provided by the party’s hostesses, and sit back to relish a musical feast.
