Scribble Sisters: September 9 and 23. 1:30-3:30. Venues to be determined. Contact Suzanne Kirkpatrick or Kathy Wagenknecht.
Book Group: September 17, 1:00 – 2:30. Book: Second half of The Warmth of Other Suns by Isabel Wilkerson. The book tells the story of the decades-long migration of black people from the South who fled to various northern and western cities. Beautifully written and quite readable, the book reveals the raw racism that the three main characters and other black migrants experienced in the South, and then later in the north and west. To join the discussion, contact Mary Feidner or Margaret Howland or plan to access the discussion through ZOOM. [For the Zoom link and information on how you can Zoom into a meeting with only a telephone, click here.] Members who have not read the book, but who would like to take part in the Zoom meeting are more than welcome.
Sack-Lunch Picnic at Willow Park: Saturday, September 19, 12:00-2:00: Let’s picnic! Let’s enjoy one another’s company! Even though we can’t have our traditional pot-luck, we can get together. We’ve reserved a pavilion at Willow Park for our group. (Note: There are two pavilions at Willow Park. Our group has reserved tithe upper pavilion, the one accessed by East Road.) The pavilion is under an open air roof, with plenty of room for us to spread out and social distance. Bottles of water will be available. We’ll have a short branch meeting and have plenty of time to chat and even play board games. Bring your favorite game and play with a small group at your table.
